Our Team
Lone Sky Aero Advisors was formed by two industry veterans to provide worldwide aircraft sales and purchasing services, aerospace and defense contract consulting, aircraft management and operations consulting, and aviation business financial management programs. Founded by Phil Jordan and Herb Knight, our company has decades of experience in private aviation and is well positioned to navigate the nuances of the industry for each of their clients, exceeding expectations and service standards.
Phil Jordan
Phil Jordan, President and Co-founder, is a former commercial pilot with over 30 years’ experience in private, corporate, and general aviation. Mr. Jordan has held various aviation services management positions as well as owning an aircraft sales, FBO, MRO, and aviation consulting business. His long history of aviation expertise combined with a rounded education in business-specializing in aviation insurance and risk management-form the perfect blend of qualifications that private aircraft sales demand.
Herb Knight
Herb Knight, Vice President and Co-founder, has spent more than thirty years in private aviation. He has significant experience in managing corporate financial activities, as well as aircraft sales and management service sales, client reporting and administrative services. In his long career, including years with Gama Aviation and Tempus, Mr. Knight progressed from staff accountant to the role of Vice President of Aircraft Sales and Management, giving him a broad and unique background.
W. Barry Smith
W. Barry Smith, our marketing and research specialist, has decades of experience in aviation marketing and consulting. He was the marketing executive for the launch of several major corporate aviation projects including the Hawker, Westwind, Challenger, and Citation programs. After almost 30 years in the aviation marketing industry, he spent another 20 years as an aircraft broker and consultant, specializing in corporate business jets. Mr. Smith’s extensive experience adds to Lone Sky Aero Advisor’s wide range of expertise in the private aircraft industry.
Austin Rivero
Austin Rivero, a member of our marketing and research department, is a certified pilot with several years of general aviation experience and student at Texas Christian University. Austin works closely with the team to conduct market research on the various business jets that the Lone Sky Aero Advisor team specializes in.
